For those of you of a nervous disposition about heading into the hills with anything less than a 50L sack with all the trimmings, be warned that the annual FRA relay races are being held at Hayfield and the course goes round the top of Kinder Downfall. Be prepared for the shocking sight of grown men and women out in the fells wearing nothing more than trainers, shorts and vest and carrying nothing more than a small bum-bag.
