Donegal climbing

Having never been to Ireland i dont have a clue,
is the climbing any good? and where is a good crag with a variety of stuff to do?

Yeah, there are loads of different places to go - a lot of sea cliffs etc all round the coast. Culdaff, Malin Beg, Muckross, Skalpoona Bay etc

Donegal guidebook available from www.mountaineering.ie or maybe on line. I particularly recommend Cruitt Island for some fabtastic singlepitch granite.

Mournes has any amount of stuff from diff. to E10. Good guide book available too. No long walks in either. Very overlooked part of the climbing world

In reply to angels: The biggest collection of stuff about Donegal rock climbing is www.colmcilleclimbers.com. There's loads of great rock, loads of unclimbed routes, no polished holds and often lots of rain! The climbfest in April/May is a good opportunity to see the rock in the company of some of the people who developed the crags.
