nice to see that the police entered into the spirit of v's day. on the same day I saw a traffic warden in the process of giving two men parking tickets; they were parked on double yellows outside the flower shop at the end of my road. they quickly rushed out, pleaded with the warden - to the point of offering him some of the flowers they had bought - and he eventually relented and let them go on their romantic way unpunished. a touching moment.
