Obviously climbing is going to affect the premium when i take out my life insurance but does anyone just out of interest know roughly how much.
Also i have herd that some insurers ask what type of climbing you do and to what grade you climb. I mainly climb trad upto hvs but do do harder stuff and am pushing myself this year and hope to be climbing harder. so do i tell them this or would i need to tell them a anticipated grade just in case i ever fancy trying one or two.

Cheers

I had a clause put in my insurance to say they would not pay out if injury or death was a result of climbing!

Tell them you climb & wait for a response.

I've had varied responses from "hahahahahhaha - no"
to
"You climb... okay. No forms, no premiums"

In forms they use some daft climbing grades based on 1930's hob-nailed boots grades where 'severe' is near the top! I think they really start to panic if you say you climb outside the UK (like we have softer rock or something!!!)

FYI, when i telephoned 'Virgin Life' they gave the best response.
