Are they worth the money?

Depends if they fit you, for a start. If you find one with all the space and features you need, AND it fits nicely....then yes.

All of Arcteryx kit is expensive, because it is made in Canada not the Far East. Therefore labour is expensive.

I have several pieces of Arcteryx, which are absolutely brilliant, although expensive (Jacket = £360).

I tried the packs on, and they did not fit me well. So I went for a MacPac.

I reckon its worth about the same as a Macpac Glissade £180 plus say extra £20 to modify, I got my Bora 95 on special from REI with members discount so total cost include duty & Vat £200.

White Laminated interior good.
Suspension system is magic - will let you carry big loads for long distances.
Construction quality excellent.
Waterproof zips arent since there is a gap where the zip pulls meet!
The vertical access zip is pointless.
The "Kangaroo pouch" is good but spoilt by not being a two way zip.
