Stetind & Lofoten (Norway) - Anyone been?

hey, ne1 climbed Stetind south pillar in Norway? Were climbing it at the weekend, was wondering if ne1 had any hints or tips?

Also, going to Lofoten midweek following, any classics?

In reply to free_hat: did it last summer...the best time to climb it is during the late afternoon and evening, finishing around midnight or later. try it in the heat of the day (we did it in august) and you're heading for certain death! the hardest part is actually getting to the base of the pillar, the rest is steady, as long as you're ok at HVS 5b. you can sneak off below the final three pitches, but what's the point of that?
the descent is something top be careful on, since there's plenty of opportunity for a slip and more certain death!

Just got back tonight and it was amazing! Best climb ive maybe ever done. photos to follow on UkClimbing soon!

I am planning to go next year. It looks great.

Did some climbing around Romsdal a couple of years ago - some fantastic mountain routes, and only a days drive from Bergen.

If you like seafood then Alesund is a good place.
