In reply to Oli: that aint a real website
In reply to Rock-Fish:

Find a shop that sells glove puppets - add a bit of wire round the base to keep them open. They make very good chalk bags. A friend of mine has the glove puppet of a bat as his chalk bag - although anything that hangs upside down would be appropriate.

I remember a few years ago there was a bit of a fashion for "gordon the gopher" chalk bags. At the time it seemed that everyone had these little rodents hanging from their harnesses and squeaking each time they chalked up.

Personally I reckon muppets would be much better, you could try to do a whole muppet show with some mates at the wall.

I wish I had been climbing long enough to have seen that.

I remember being rather confused when I saw the first few, cos I couldn't figure out where the squeaking was coming from.

It's possible someone here has a photo of a climbing wall from the early 90's which contains a gordon. Anyone?

In reply to adam carless: I'm going to try and find a Gordon the gopher on ebay now and do that just so I can look really sad at the wall!

You should make one out of a Charlie Chalk puppet.

you mean something like one of these, http://www.kitchenkapers.com/noovmi.html (Sorry, US site, it's the first one that turned up).

And a few other ideas for puppets to hunt down and modify - basil brush, bagpuss, the flumps, magic roundabout. ah, I think I just admitted to being old.
