I have vivid and painful memories of cold, uncomfortable evenings spent at Westway last Winter. I discovered that belaying and climbing with ice-cube fingers is neither safe nor satisfying, so I'm a little reluctant to return now that the temperature has dipped somewhat...

Can anyone reassure me that the promised heating system has been installed and is working? (Or I think my boyf will start chipping handholds out of the stairwell - he's getting a little frustrated).

Thank you!

Relish the friction
Relish being able to climb without chalk.
If you don;t like the cold put some more clothes on!

In reply to Sue Pennington: According to another thread on the same subject they now do have the equipment. However whether it can be relied upon is a different matter; Westway in the cold is the pits. If its any use to you, Mile End can usually be relied upon to be warm in the winter. Castle's not bad; they now have some internal doors infront of the bike park area downstairs.

In reply to Sue Pennington: If anything it's too warm! I cycled there with thermals on and climbed in a t shirt!
