Hi,

I am due to be assessed for my Winter Mountain Leader next week in Scotland and so will be spending this week practicing the skills required. It would be great to meet up with an aspirant winter climber/walker who would like to be taught the basic winter skills and then perhaps climb some grade I/II routes depending on the conditions. I aim to cover the following areas and spend at least one night in a snowhole:

Ice Axe/Cramponing techniques
Winter Navigation
Avalanche prediction and rescue
Security on steep ground
Snow Anchors

Alternatively if there is anyone else who fancies refreshing these skill and then climbing a bit harder then please get in touch. I will be driving to Fort William on Tues 7th March from Portsmouth so could possibly offer a lift. I can supply some basic equipment if required. Please reply to this post or give me a ring on 07736 114 976.

Cheers,

Toby.
