I know 5:10 make a Stealth rubber for canyonning boots, designed presumably to stick better to wet rock. So what I was thinking was getting either a pair of them for the inevitable wet days low grade climbing/scrambling, or resoling an old pair of rockboots in the 5:10 canyonning rubber. Are the canyonning shoes any good for climbing in? Can you get resoles in that rubber?
Could this be a good alternative to the wet sock dodge?
Any thoughts?

Five Ten make a line of shoes for Canyoning/Canoeing or other water activites. I wouldn't be able to tell who stocks them, but give Big Stone a call on tel: +44 (0) 114 263 4261, they are the UK suppliers and should be able to tell you who stocks them.

In reply to roblo: thanks, I know they make those shoes, but they always seemed a bit bulky for climbing -anyone here used them???
more inteersted in how good the rubber is on wet rock and whether you can get resoles done in it, it may not come in the flat sheets needed for resoling, spose I'll have to phone Feet First...

I hired a pair of canyoning shoes for a day in Zion National Park a while back. They're very bulky for climbing - they're good for scrambling over wet rock, but I wouldn't fancy trying any particularly delicate footowrk in them. The rubber seemed very good on wet rock (but remember that different types of rock behave differently when wet and I may just have got lucky on the sandstone).

Teva make canyoning shoes which are pretty low-bulk:

Don't think they'd be particularly precise, though.
