Go to a specialist climbing shop they will give you good advice, as well as experienced climbers on here.

The brands you need to be looking at are 5.10, Sportiva, Evolv, Red Chili, Montrail, Boreal, Rock Pillars..........

I've just put a quick note of the results of the Manchester Bruntwood Aerial Assault as I remembered them from last night's presentation on the BMC Latest News page. Apologies to anyone if I've made any mistakes (I was very tired last night!). I'll correct them tomorrow when the official results are published.

Cheers, nick

On a related note, I'd just like to say thanks to all the guys from the Manchester Climbing Centre and the other participants for a really enjoyable session on the Dyno wall at the end of the day. My hands are ripped to shreds, knuckles are swollen and neck hurts but it was worth it!

I agree Jon, all of us who took part owe a great debt of thanks to the numerous volunteers. Because, without their selfless support, fantastic events like this one, and indeed others such as the BRYCS, etc, etc, just couldn't take place.

Nic i was belaying on one of the stands on saturday and i would like to say that all the competitors were fantastic and all took time to talk to the gathering crowds. A fantastic achievwement by all.

Thanks for that. It must have been frustrating having to stand all day belaying and not really get a chance to climb. If I ever see you out, I'll get you a pint, that's a promise!

I hope I got chance to thank you for your efforts. It was a long day for the belayers and without you guys the event can't happen. The climbers all comented that the belayers were all friendly and enthusiastic even after sitting there for 9 hours!! Thanks again

A pint would be good but a few climbing tips from you guys would be better. Well done all.

In reply to ste mac: Yeh i'd say the great party at the end was thanks enough Ste ^^ Now if only I hadnt got somehow coaxed into armwrestling Miles and his arms of steel...

Andi we were only standing around so long because you guys were so damn slow! hehe just a joke, it was inspiring to see and talk to the climbers and i'm glad I had the chance to be a part of it. I think i'm gonne start a Rab Carrington fanclub, truly inspiring stuff.

Sorry for keeping you waiting!

A Rab club would rock, anyone who thinks they're a tradionalist should take a look at his and Nicks CV, those guys are amazing!
