Can anyone recommend a good guide book for alpine climbing in the Cordillera Blanca region in Peru? ...or other areas?

In reply to Jason Serviss:

Several but they are now somewhat out of date due to glacial retreat and ice loss.

The best is the Classic Climbs inthe CB

There is also the Biggar Climbs in the Andes, but it tends to focus on harder stuff.

If you want I will have a dig through my bookcase at home and dig out some of the foreign ones. THere is a very good guidebook in Spanish, I can't recall the name.

In reply to Jason Serviss: Get yourself a copy of: Classic Climbs of the Cordillera Blanca Peru by Brad Johnson. Part coffee table inspiration and part guidebook. Its got great photos and good route decriptions for routes of all grades. The general advice is spot on as well. I think it's distributed by Cordee in this country if that helps as not many shops stock it as standard. It's a fantastic area and I'm desperate to get back!

There is another that I thought was quite good - not as good as the Classic but I am unable to find its name right now

Yup, see above.

Although his walk in times must have been set by Joss Naylor
