Adrian Berry tells UKClimbing.com:

"If anyone is in a position to down-grade, it's Dave. From his blog, it sounds like grades in the Lakes and Scotland are being applied rather more harshly than they are in the Peak."

Anyone seen Adrian's footage of the ascent ? He showed it at the Lescar last year. Admittedly not up to the slick standards of Set in Stone or E11, but pretty good nonetheless

I like Adrian's observation, "Sheffield is turning into a backwater!". Some of us have known that for years.

In reply to Norrie Muir:

i like Dave's observation that's not so much "How hard can it be" attitude amongst climbers these days....which is probably why i'm not onsighting E5 (yet).

You gotta hand it to Dave M, he is doing some good stuff, all the time. Very impressive...

Dave Mc is spot on. Hard trad has seen a real decline which is a real shame! In sheffield it is not because there is not individuals with the sufficient talent but that prefer to push their limits in a safer arena. I say hats of to Dave for pushing hard trad and not being afraid to voice his personal feelings!
