Based near Fort William, this is ideal for those who are eager to learn about safe winter mountaineering in the UK. We will take you progressively through the skills of winter mountaineering, covering:
* Use of Ice axe and crampons
* Ice axe arrest
* Navigation in winter
* Avalanche risk assessment
* Emergency shelters / survival
* Basic rope work
* Movement over ridges, rocky ground and cornices
