I have a Petzl Zoom, Duo, (new) Tikka and another old small one.
I take all 4 most places and only ever use the Tikka.

Have tried both, suggest Petzl Myo.

In reply to anthonyecc: if your using it for cycling mainly then why not get a bike specialist light like teh catseyes, hope etc.

otherwise i'd suggest the petzl myo ( sp )

Thanks for that. I thought I was going to have to buy my 5th headtorch!

It is also very good for night running. The tikka is not powerful enough to route find in the woods and the zoom is too heavy and uncomfortable. The Myo Xp is probably as good though.

In reply to Guy: I haven't tried the Tikka XP but I can confirm that the Myo XP is a very good head torch and fine for night running. I got mine about 20% off list from a seller on "a well-known auction site".

If I have a BD helmet do I need to get a BD head torch for a proper fit? Or are they all pretty much the same?
Don't mean to hijack your thread anthony

In reply to anthonyecc: There is an alternative. The Silva L1 comes with a small battery pack on the head band and a remote pack too for 4 c cells. Unlike the petzl they have voltage regulation so don't slowly dim. the 4 battery's also keeps the long beam (3watt, 60 odd meters) a realistic option. They are available for under £60, not bad considering how bright it is and the two battery packs; very happy with mine, use it for cross country running.

In reply to anthonyecc: The Petzl Myo 3 is a little heavy for jogging as it has 4 x AA batteries in the back of the headband. This tends to bounce around a little too much when jogging, appart from that they are great.
