The 2007 Sheffield Adventure Film Forum 21-25 March 2007
The Showroom Cinema, Sheffield

100% of ShAFF visitors in 2006 said they’d come back again and bring friends!*
I’ve got to say I think the line up that you have is tremendous. I’ve seen quite a lot of film festivals with big budgets and full time staff jet setting around the world and failing to come up with a line up half as good. Dave Brown - Hot Aches Productions
Comments from 2006:
“Incredibly well done on all counts I thought.” - Mick Ryan, UKClimbing
“My friend who came is a non climber and enjoyed it”
“Yes! Yes! Yes! More Please ”

Comment from Joe Simpson on being invited to be Patron to the event:
“I was delighted to be asked to be Patron of the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival as I came to Sheffield over twenty years ago to find my own adventures. This wonderful city has become my adopted home from which forays all over the world have lead to adventures and escapades I could scarcely have dreamed possible, always to return to the vibrant climbing culture in Sheffield. With the Peak district as my playground I could climb, mountain bike, walk, paraglide, and fly fish to my hearts content. With a reputation as the climbing capital of Britain I can socialise with some of the worlds best climbers, mountaineers, and ice climbers. There is a vibrant enthusiastic buzz in the city with a huge array of characters indulging in adventure sports at the highest level. It is a perfect place to be and a city to which I am eternally grateful that I chose to come visit and forgot to leave. I hope that the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival grows into a world recognised forum for the best that this city can offer to those who appreciate a love of life lived somewhat closer to the edge than most.”
Dave MacLeod has unfortunately had to cancel his talk on the Sunday evening. However we've managed to line up an extremely eminent replacement in the form of James Pearson. James is perhaps the only person in the UK currently bagging as many of the headlines as Dave. With a recent new E10 in the Peak District and the world's first flash of a Font 8B boulder problem under his belt he comes to the lecture on superb form and with some superb footage of his exploits.
Daniel Ilabaca is a freerunner renowned for his street gymnastics. He too has had to cancel his talk, but his good friend and fellow freerunner Luke Markey is standing in for him. In addition we've managed to line up two bonus films. The short film Space Chase has been screened at over 30 international film festivals, whilst the 10 minute 'Interview With Daniel Ilabaca' provides an in-depth look into the mind of the Liverpudlain.
Alastair Lee of Posing Productions and John and Anne Arran of Freeclimber.com will be exhibiting photographs at the event.
Looks like you can bid for VIP SHAFF tickets on that well known auction site:
"As well as a pass to all 62 featured films at the Sheffield Adventure Film Forum (23-25 March), the top bidder wins two tickets to the 22 March launch, VIP tickets to the 24 March party, and a haul of goodies including a Berghaus Vice rucksack. For more information, go to www.shaff.co.uk, which promises to be a superb event. NB: This auction lasts 7 days, starting 10 March."
Should be a good show if the website and listings of films is anything to go by. I was also very impressed with last year's event.
For anybody trying to book tickets through the Showroom Box Office - apologies, the line has been down for a couple of days. Should be up again imminently.
