My Granny got married when she was 85, after having been a widow since 1970 or so. They sparked a nationwide survey to discover whether they were too old to get married or not (evidently not, since they did....) She was still winning golf championships & bridge tournaments when she was 90. She was an incredibly inspiring woman.

In reply to Greenbanks: Well Mike Banks was over 70 when he led the Old Man of Hoy and Cenotaph Corner a couple of years ago, so yes, hope.

We have an active member 75 years old in our club – he was one of the founder members in 1957.

He still climbs and skis – and can do more pull ups then a couple of our male members.

He is an inspiration to every one in the club and in well respected. You can never catch him on the phone at home during the day as he is always out doping something.

Most people 57 can not match this. Hope for me yet !
