Is there such a thing!?

Wore my Sprayway lightweight breathable cag in the recent heavy rain and on my return after only 2 hours out in it found that there were damp patches (enough to soak into the fabric) on the T shirt I was wearing under.

I must conclude there is no such thing as a jacket that's waterproof and breathable. Event and Paramo seem to come close though.

Damp patches after two hours heavy rain is normal. That's why it is advised to wear a wicking base layer. The objective is to stay reasonably warm, not bone dry. I wear a 'wicking' base layer and have a light fleece handy for when I stop moving.
