Quick question:

The three main "flaws" with climbing holds that make them too easy to use compared to real rock are:

1. Too positive / incut compared to the more problematic real rock holds.

2. Too easy to pinch and use your thumb for extra grip.

3. Too big as footholds compared to often crap footholds outdoors.

Could you tell us how your Mock Rock designs avoid those flaws??

Cheers.

I reckon it doesn´t look like "real" rock, it´s dark like grit or rhyolite. Real rock is light coloured and is called limestone.

We now do the holds in bright colours too, much more akin to traditional climbing holds. When I have shown these holds to people in person they have been amazed at how much they look like real rock. However we always adapt and listen to feedback.

1. These holds use real rock textures that are actually found on rock outdoors, they are as close to real rock holds as you can get.
2. A varied mix in the sets ensures real problems can be made.
3. A number of the holds have a seamless blend into the wall to ensure that where the hold meets the wall there is no area which can be utilized as a foot/handhold other than the actual features on the main body of the hold.
