I think its time i got a new hard shell, can anyone reccomend one thats less than £100. I've had a look at the marmot precip and TNF resolve jackets, are these any good for proper mountain use?

Bought my last three jackets from Gaynors in Ambleside and all around the £100 mark.

At around £100 its best to look for what is on offer rather than setting your mind on any particular type.

In reply to GrahamD: I realised this hence when i noticed i could get both the above jackets for just over £60 i thought i'd see if i could get any feedback.
In reply to Eddie1234: Patagonia Stretch Element. £120 from the mountain factor in ambleside. Comes only in Garish Orange. Thats what I'd be getting if i needed such a jacket. much cooler than a buffalo too. http://shop.themountainfactor.com/product.php?xProd=1469

In reply to Tom Ripley Mountain Guide: Hmm looks nice, im going to be in ambleside next month aswell.

Anyone else anthing to offer?
In reply to Eddie1234: I wouldn't count on it still being avalible. TMF are great shop and will happily exchange the garment for the correct one if it doesn't fit. Phone: and speak to woody, he'll point you in the right direction for a good jacket.

They have some of the best customer service out there.

Look out for bargains at the moment, as there are plenty around.

You can pick up Gore or eVent waterproofs for £100 or less.

There are a couple of threads on OutdoorsMagic where obsessive bargain hunter (like me) post their recent bargain spots.

Certainly worth scrolling back through the last few pages to see what's about.

If you're going to Ambleside or Keswick, you should find plenty of bargain choices.
