Taking the dog for a few days walking and camping next week in Glen Quoich (Sgurr na Ciche, etc.) below Knoydart.

Was thinking of taking a tent outer only to reduce some weight.

Midgies will be fine but what about ticks? Do they have a season?

I've had tick trouble in September before but not sure if they're all year round.

In reply to Colin Henderson: heard someone talking on the radio about how many more tick related problems there had been in tayside this year with a health service person talking about a peak feeding season for ticks in october - not sure if a few hard frosts will kill them off though (scraped ice off the car this morning on the east coast.
