Probably not quite what you are looking for, but every risk management consultancy has at some point used the image of either a rock climber (on a big overhang), ice climber (vertical water ice) or a mountaineer (Kuffner Ridge or similar).

I have a vague recollection of some Old Spice adverts featuring surfers.

And of course, Milk Tray chocolate ads involved assorted skiing and climbing exploits.
