You can go to El Chorro to climb, go to Granada to see the Alhambra and go skiing in the Sierra Nevada; done it a couple of times and it was great fun. ( & if you fancy there's surfing on the Atlantic coast which is a couple of hours drive from El Chorro)

Don't know about Costa Brava

I'm also considering a long weekend in spain.

Is there a guide book for the El Chorro area? How far is El Chorro from Granada (airport)??

What type of climbing is available ideally looking for sport climbs so that I dont have to take a rack.

cheers

Yes you can buy it locally in either the climbing shop near the station or from the Finca de la Campana for 20 euros.

About a 2 hour drive

More than you can possibly imagine at all grades, single & multipitch.

In reply to pictish: It's closer to Malaga airport (about 1 hour or you can get the train) if you don't have to fly to Granada
