This is the second in Tom Dixon's bouldering mat review series at UKClimbing.com. The first was Moon Bouldering Mats which you can read at http://www.ukclimbing.com/gear/review.php?id=692

He now takes a look at Snap bouldering mats/pads.

"I was so excited to hear that Snap, the French bouldering company, were finally going to be given proper representation in the UK via the County Climbing Company that it actually made me feel quite happy about my life, for too long had I seen French people foisting about these sexy slices of foam. "

Also includes a VIDEO of some classic Joshua Tree highballs including So High, White Rastafarian and Planet X.

Just received the slightly newer models and snap have improved the buckles further so the pads close up quick and the straps are more easily removable.

I've had a Snap pad for 2/3 years (the calzone) and can say it's been great. The foam is still good too. The only drawback, as you pointed out, is that when you get a little high up, it looks pretty small when you look down.

Great pad though.
