In reply to scrubmunched: didn't they climb a 5+ route?
 Dom Whillans 13 Dec 2007
In reply to Ashley: i just saw that on the EPG - i think that episode's climbing feature is becoming a little like dan osman's speed ascent on youtube!

It was hard to tell, they seemed to start at the beginning of a route that they werent climbing while the filming was on them so......... who knows. And from the area they started they were no where near where he based from the top. I suppose this has been talked to death on here at some point about what route they did, but in my experience of verdon I have not got a clue, start, mid, and end all different area's.
IMO
In reply to Glyn Jones:

Oi!!!

In reply to Ashley:
I think the route was a 6b or 6c (seem to remember a lot of people saying something around there), ie not generally trivial, but no technical challenge for someone like leo.
Also they did it twice, once just to see who won, then a second time for the cameras with all the dynos and grunting.

In reply to Ashley:
great episode, but no way a race! all done that way to make good tv. look at how many camera changes there are - for both the climbing and the car.

makes you think about the other challenges they do too.

never the less its still good viewing and that's all that counts.

verdon looking great too!!
