gable or scafell? which is more likely to be in condition?

There was a big thaw on Thursday, it froze again yesterday and today, pretty good climbing today on Helvellyn area though probably not Gable, I expect Scafell was OK too.
Sadly though, there's an even bigger thaw due tomorrow
But more snow due next week

Helvellyn is good, but crowded. Today, the north face of Fairfield was deserted, and in good condition, with very small cornices. The basic grade 1 gullies (many, and not all in the new guide) are worth a visit.
