Why dosen't the MCofS orginise BMC style meet/clean ups/barby?!

There's tones going on down south even at this time of year, why aren't the similar events organised in Scotland, know Cambusbarron/Ratho quarry and shurly a few other popular venues need a good clean.

Could be a way even to raise the MCofS profile a bit...

Another note why is there website so carp compared to the BMC's?

They are two different organisations. One is well organised at both national and local level; responsive to it's members wishes and democratic while the other is the MCofS.

In reply to Norrie Muir: They appear to be able to orginse sport comps, surely it wouldn't be a stretch to have some proper climbing events as well?

Lack of funds/volunteers?

Just looked and they have a new site, kept that quite. Maybe they're moving in the right direction...

I think there would be plenty of people willing to help out, I've looked before to see if they ahev any clean-ups etc going on and can never find anything. It's a shame there are decent venues lying almost unused just because they could do with a good clean up and some attention.

If you have candidate crags why not ring them and suggest them - maybe even volunteer to organise a clean-up yourself with guidance and support from MCoS?
