What a difference handing the reigns over to Gordo makes. Contrast this miserable (ten years after) post with the grinning chimp of 1997 and 2008

Maybe he looks grim because he’s pondering the service personnel unnecessarily killed and wounded in Iraq, and making the UK a target of international terrorism?

Ok, maybe not…

You really should substitute 'people killed' if you're going to go down that road. The numbers are more 'impressive'

Who'd want to be prime minister eh?

As the Iraq ‘war on terror’ was ongoing, a friend of my brother’s was working as a plater / fabricator in a yard with a huge order to make special toilet facilities to be used in the Iraq desert.

One day he looked at the revision box on the drawing he was working to; the ‘Approved for Construction’ date was about 6 months before the Iraq issue was being discussed in the Commons. Obviously the design had several stages of design and approval before it reached the AFC stage.

My brother’s mate isn’t the brightest guy in the world, but even he scratched his head and went “hang on a second...” when he worked out the dates.
