Having now moved to Sheffield, I was wondering if anyone knows how many days a year on average (or is it how many days per decade?) Kinder Downfall comes into condition for winter climbing, and how many days of a cold snap are needed? And are there any other winter objectives within the Peak? It would be worth pulling a sicky for if it comes into nick...

Cheers for any help.

The simple answer is not many and you would need a reasonably long cold snap it also faces west so gets the sun

Normally around x-mas/new year when we got a cold snap and the sun light hours are at a minimum, given it's Westerly facing aspect.

New Years was good this year.
