In reply to Simon Lee: I've never found any problems in getting life insurance as a climber.

In reply to Andrew McLellan: But Simon 'Sharkey' Lee is a unique circumstance and needs special cover!!

In reply to Simon Lee:

I've just taken out a policy with Pearl Assurance. You have the usual questionnaire to complete, but it led you to believe that unless you frequented the Alps or other high altitude ranges, you shouldn't get too much of a penalty for being a climber. I'm still waiting to see the final offer of cover/cost before I commit.

In reply to Simon Lee: The best quote I got was from Alliance & Leicester. £14 a month for life assurance and/or critical illness for a £65k pay-out and it covers playing in the mountains/climbimg and ski touring both in uk and abroad.

In reply to jimbob: Thanks Jimbob I will try them and the BMC and see how I get on
