I found a 'Beal Dynaconnexion' sling at a local crag today, anyone ever come across one before or used one ?

Apart from the person who spent £20 on this expensive sling and then lost it, someone else must have come acroos this piece of kit.

yeah.

they are a dynamic version of a sling.

Means that if you clip into an anchor, then climb above it and slip, it won't (or shouldn't) snap like a static sling will.

of course, you could save £20 by using an off cut of your climbing rope (should you have to cut it for some reason)

In reply to crisp: They're somewhat popular in Quebec (they were developed here) were the nominal use is to clip in to an anchor and use the clip in point mid-sling to extend one's belay device when rapelling as this is the local orthodoxy. I like a piece of rope about 2.5m in length instead with a butterfly in the middle. But then I don't extend my rappel device and I use the butterfly to adjust the length of the cow's tail.
