Looking to introduce Mrs Feepole to the joys of hillwalking.

First though she needs some half decent gear. Will need to be suitable for 3 seasons on the Scottish hills. Budget for jacket and breeks is £300 total.

Any suggestions? - anyone noticed any cracking deals on the go at the moment?

(If she don't stay dry then all my hopes and deams of long weekends yomping together through the heather may be crushed!)

Check out the Montane womens Superfly for an absolutely brilliant waterproof that doesn't look like you are wearing a bag for under 200 quid. Its the best waterproof I have ever owned and is as good for doing winter routes as it is for mountain biking and everything in between. Plus its eVent which breathes a lot better than goretex.

No idea about trousers, I own four pairs, they are all utter crap. If anyone can recommend me a decent set I'd be pleased!
