which tent - msr asgard or mtn hardwear trango 2?

any recommendations?
which is better all round in terms of waterproof, weight, weather proof, durability?

I can't comment on the Asgard, but we have a MH Trango 2, which gets used in all weathers and we love it. Given it's an inner pitch first, you need to to be pretty adept at throwing it up when it's raining, but it's easy to do, and once up you have a really rugged shelter.

it's heavy in comparison so some 2 person tents, but my wife and I are happy to lug the additional weight for the security of having a shelter that can handle pretty much anything the weather is going to chuck at it. We use a footprint in summer, just to protect the groundsheet, and in winter I tend to put a thermal wrap ( survival bag cut open and a foil blanket gaffered taped to it) under it for the addtional warmth.

I haven't had the trango 2 for long, but we also have a trango 3.1 which I've owned for a number of years now, and it's still going strong, waterproof etc.
