John Cox recounts a tale of rucksacks lost in the ocean, seduced farmer's daughters, hot-wired cars and a very late night taxi ride. He sums it up thus:
"It all came to well over a grand. But it's a great route. Worth every penny."
In reply to johncoxmysteriously: Brilliant John, very funny Surprisingly the article has been read 666 times, considering the route name quite appropriate I thought
Love this story Now where's this mythical one about recovering yourself and gear after falling off The Moon that I've heard about, or was that someone else?
Thanks for that .... fair cheered me up on a miserable morning in front of the computer!
Oh ... and I'm now looking for a cloth to clean the screen and keyboard after projecting coffee at them on the back of the laughter I could not contain!
Very, very good. I loved it last time and I'm glad to see it as a proper article. Thanks.

In reply to Jack Geldard - Editor - UKC: This is an outstanding article. It's very well written and the tale is told beautifully. I would love to see this standard of writing across more of the UK climbing media. The one thing that springs out is that very little of the article is about climbing...most others would have written tedious stuff about the route and then mentioned the car epic as an afterthought. Excellent.
In reply to Jack Geldard - Editor - UKC: I heard that the following weekend when John went to pick the car up was a slight shambles as well, carrying on in the vein of every decision resulting in making a bad situation worse... Only hearsay though but it was quite a funny addendum.
In reply to Jack Geldard - Editor - UKC: SOmeone give that man a shiny new toy, that was a cracking bit of writing, just had me laughing out loud at work.
