Hi

Ok so not looking like a good weekend for it but can anyone recommend any good camp spots near Keswick?

Pref walking distance to a pub, cheap, not fussed about facilities and prefereably without militant rules and regs...I'm not noisey they just annoy me!

In reply to hereanthere: Hollins farm - grange. Not a huge walk to a number of bars. - Borrowdale is flooded just now though - I've just come back from a moist few days holiday

Erm yep, think I'd like to avoid the flooded bits! Might try castlerigg, they just seem to have some pretty rigid rules according to their website!

Thanks

In reply to hereanthere: Hollows farm has fairly good drainage so if you dont pitch in a dip then you would be OK Castlerigg though is close to a pub 2 mins walk also if you ask nicely at rakefoot farm they may let you pitch up on the fell away from it all for a small fee.
In reply to hereanthere: narrows eyes and asks "what rules are you bothered about?" youre not an anarchist are you?

Hollows farm has rubbish drainage, even the sloping field was a river when I went to look a couple of years ago. Remember there is only a thin layer of grass on top of rock.
