That's what I was told last night.

I'll doff my cap to them again, they've certainly moved things up a notch.

Would help him if the OP could provide more than the last name and initials, though. I've never heard of this bloke.

Really. I'm afraid I'm busy with advertising. Could you do it for us Hadonicus?

Good effort.

In reply to lowersharpnose: Are you sure it isn't the news about falling off Gaia and soloing Meshuga?

Yes. Gaia was soloed yesterday (friend told me who heard it from someone who was there, Chinese whispers possible).

It's a hell of a fiat if it was. I watched the video of Alex Honnold leading it and it's certainly not the type of route you'd want to take a plunge on (especially on solo).

Hats off to the chap.

I can confirm this. I've spent a couple of days out in the Peak doing my part-time job of chav-minding (some people call this youth-work).

On Monday we were bouldering at Burbage S, and a squad of Americans went up onto the edge. I noticed them casually soloing The Knock to warm up, and they had top-ropes down what looked like Parthian Shot and Equilibrium. My chavs got cold so we had to leave, but Team America were later spotted at the plantation trying to keep the snow off Brad Pitt.

On Tuesday the conditions were mint, unfortunately I was taking my little angels around Black Rocks orienteering. On the way back we saw one of the dudes from the day before soloing Gaia, and another filming it. These guys are keen as well as good!

Can we get some fact (i.e. names) on this rather than just abstract comment.

Also, does anyone know if any of these ascents are being posted on web (video)

Yes.

ah, thanks for the expansive answer Mick!

as in when/where?

In reply to MattDTC:

So if it wasn't Kevin Jorgeson, it was either Matt Segal and Alex Honnold?

If Alex Honnold had already done the near on-sight then that might suggest Matt Segal was the likely soloist?

Does anybody here actually know? I notice it isn't mentioned in Mick new report.

I would guess it wasnt KJ, his finger is a right mess. My guess is Alex Honnold

Heard Matt talking at the works last night. It was Alex. He also soloed Meshuga a couple more times.

What do you do if you "dry fire" of a pebble?

Alright, Mr Ryan, I'm ready for my close up...

In reply to craig d:
As you do. Good effert by the fellas again.
 danm 26 Nov 2008
In reply to craig d: I thought so but wasn't sure. Didn't feel it was appropriate to get too close as he was soloing, and I had a load of "youth at risk" in tow. Didn't want them to put him off by shouting anything, which they have a tendency to do!
