delivering stuff between the UK and France/Germany

Hi,

I'm moving back to the UK this spring/summer and I have furniture and the like to bring back, for which I'll need to hire a transit van. I only need to go one way though, and it seems crazy to drive 900 miles in an empty van.

Now there must be someone out there who needs to get a van load of stuff to France/Germany some time around May, who has the opposite problem to me; hopefully we could both save some time and money.

Is anyone here in this position or know some forum where I can advertise?

Thanks,

CDR

Worth a try on there, you'll probably need some flexibility on dates unless you're very lucky.

In reply to crossdressingrodney: If it's any help, I need to move a sofa from northern Germany to England sometime soon, so would be willing to chip in to the cost of the van. Let me know if you're interested, cheers, John

Thanks for the responses so far.

JohnW: I'm based in the South of Bavaria, so it could be another day's travelling and extra 800 miles or so to go via north Germany. Also, I'd have to check the dimensions of the van, since we've got quite a lot of stuff already to take back.

maybe you could try http://www.deutsche-in-london.net/forum/index.php They've got a transport subforum and there's also people who aren't based in London

Thanks, I've posted there (badly).
