Just thought I would write my thoughts on what has been an very enjoyable weekend at my local climbing wall, firstly the charity event in support of the Five Stars Scanner Appeal, the event was successful of course with team competing against the clock literally to achieve a target height. Secondly the enthusiasm with which this was done, all teams competing in a manner of urgency and competively.
Then of course there was speed climbing, and the boulder problem set by John Dunne himself entitled "Nemesis", the following day seeing more teams aiming to achieve the target height of "Everest" to raise funds for an MRI scanner for the Fivestars appeal, and then the climax of the weekend, the Chris Sharma lecture which by all accounts was inspiring to see the very man who gives inspiration to so many climbers around the world who enjoy climbing for what it is overall the whole event was fantastic and the turn out was great too, thanks for a brilliant weekend!
