He says:"It is made of good materials, it is really warm and isn't too expensive."

In reply to UKC Gear: I could add a little after I finished writing this review that one of the plastic widgets that goes on the end to the hood elastics fell off the jacket and got lost. The hood elastic is now finished with a knot. Minor but annoying, because the similar widgets on other jackets I have haven't fallen off despite many years of use.

In reply to UKC Gear: Can I use this thread as a opinion poll opportunity?

Question - who likes detachable hoods on insulated jackets and why?

There must be lots of people as so many companies make them, and have done for decades.
In reply to TobyA: I rarely use the hood on an insulated jacket! I prefer the flexibility of mixing beanie, balaclava, etc. I've got one mid-weight down jacket without a hood that I use for cragging, and a thicker down jacket with a detachable hood for Winter stuff.

Cheers
