Hey... just wondering is it possible to get climbing holds that can be attached straight onto a brick wall as appose to putting up boards first?

cheers,

In reply to penney1990: Yep
2 things to consider do you want to be able to move them around?
2nd is, do you really want your wall to look like swiss cheese?

If the wall is on your property and you will ever sell your property putting up boards will make it a lot easier to make good befoer you sell.

You can either use expansion bolts direct into the brick (though depending on the bricks they might crack) or glue the holds on with a decent epoxy (though obviously you won't be able to move them).

to save any damage to the brick/stonework in the event you want to move home i would suggest drilling into the joints, they can easily be filled in when you no longer need them

Cheers guys. though i do suppose all holes left behind could make mono pockets lol. I'll have a look into things and probablly end up putting boards up. Plus if i put boards up i can put them on brackets, therefore set the wall to different angles, thus making a better training device.
