as per the title. anyone know where to get a cheap one of these? am struggling to find any online shops that sell it

thanks for any info
In reply to ali k: Try Urbanrock.com

Alternatively why not look at another brand? I can personally recommend the Edelweiss Laser 9.6mm........try cragclimbing.com for one of these....

why not go for the Mammut Revelation....80m available at V12:

i think 9.2mm is the perfect diameter for sport climbing.....feels light enough on hard long redpoints....esp with 30+m of rope out. plus secure enough in a gri-gri.

In reply to north country boy: Did you mean CragXclimbing.com ?

The Laser is here: http://cragxclimbing.com/edelweiss-laser-single-rope-p-3501.html?p=product

9.2mm in a gri-gri? I thought they were only rated for a minimum 10mm rope?

In reply to nigelp:

Petzl err on the side of caution.....9.2mm is fine and i have used thinner with one.

Am not too impressed with Mammut to be honest. I bought a 70m 10mm galaxy last summer. it´s now less than 55m long having needed several chops. it also handles like sh*t. the first chop (both ends) was after only a month in ceuse. maybe it was just bad luck, but am none too impressed either way.

have used several beal ropes since and have been very impressed with the handling & quality. am open to suggestions though. might check out this edelweiss one? or would be useful to hear if other people have had similar problems with the galaxy.

In reply to IainWhitehouse: cheers. but looks like max length they do is 70m. i´ll definitely need an 80m for this summer

Couldn't find the 80m Booster III for you.(I have the 60m and it's been great!)

And the only other Beal rope at that kind of diameter/performance i found that was long enough, was the Beal Joker 9.1mm.

But it comes as a 100m. Which may well be too long for you..!

Hope it helps

Hi Ali,

my green booster II went soft and shite in just a few months use. Maybe the Booster III is better?

Have you tried Tendon ropes? I've a 10.2x60m that i've been impressed by, very good handling and durability.

They do a 9.2mm and 9.4mm in 80m lengths.

In reply to ali k:

yeah i have chopped 2m off my 70m revelation so far....but at least have given it a fairly decent workout over 2+yrs.

my main gripe with Beal is the ropes can flatten under load which is not nice with a heavier climber on a gri-gri.....but it only seems to be on some models/batches.

what about the infinity 9.2mm?

In reply to ally smith:

hi mate

where can you get tendon ropes from? couldn´t find any online stockists.

to morgan woods: i´m staying away from 9.2mm ropes. as light & smooth as they are i just plain donñt trust people to belay with them. at least the 9.7-9.8mm have a bit more to grab onto

I got mine from Peglers. They don't have the 80m version listed, but should be able to get you one if you ask over the phone/email.

I've got a tendon master 9.7 (70m) as of christmas and it seems good so far. Got it from Wildtrak in Newcastle, they had to special order it from the distributor and mail it to me so might not work so well for spain (sales@wildtrak.com).
Where you off to for the summer? I'll hopefully be headed to rodellar for most of september...

In reply to abarro81:

to ally: thanks mate. have emailed peglers for information.

to barros: summer...where else but ceuse?! and gorges du tarn...and rodellar...and maybe uk trad/mallorca in september.
