goin to the lakes 25th of June, looking at doing the Scafells walk from the Mountains of England and Wales by John & Anne Nutall (5.1 page 8.6)
I think keswick is a good base for this, what do you reckon?
Anyone got a good place to recommend that I could stay?

Cheers,
Terry.

In reply to terrydel: How posh do you want to go? Howe Keld B&B is lovely, but not the cheapest place to stay in town. The breakfasts are fantastic though.
In reply to terrydel:

What about Seathwaite? I'm sure the farm does self-catered accomodation.

In reply to terrydel: Where does the walk start? Keswick isn't the closest place to scafell.

In reply to TN:
not sure yet, staying with a friend who will have his missus in tow, and a couple of others lads. the missus being there may mean slightly more salubrious accom is required!

In reply to MJH:
ligmell is the qst summit we make, so somewher handy for that would be good.
where would you recommend?
In reply to terrydel:

If you're starting with Lingmell you want to be in Wasdale really.

You can walk straight up from Wasdale head or walk a couple of km from Seathwaite via Styhead Gill etc.

In reply to terrydel:
IF you are okay to camp then wasdale would fit the bill ! OR you could book the 2 man camping pods on the national trust site.
if you want b+b plenty in keswick (not too close mind).
and quite a few good youth hostels to go at and the one in buttermere is recommended and a quick pop over honister pass and you are down at seathwaite farm and have access to corridor route etc !

I,d camp at wasdale personally.

enjoy

Borrowdale YHA has rooms for couples - does great food and is in an idyllic location - book in advance tho.

In reply to David Hooper:

Well,

decided on a B&B called Thorneythwaite Farm B & B, in Borrowdale, address here:

Borrowdale, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 5XQ

This a good location for scafell pike hike?
