now draw all over the wall at you high point
then measure your height
one div the other gives the ratio
if positive then you is a frick'in chimp!

Broadly correct, but more normally expressed in terms of the difference between arm span and height (i.e. subtract the latter from the former). Also for us europhobes usually expressed in inches. Mine's +4, in case you were wondering (and no jokes about gibbons please...)

Why not?
If I have to suffer being likened to a primate because my index is 4.5, then so can you! (said she chomping on her lunchtime banana.......)

Interestingly enough, when with a climbing group in Austria this summer we had an ape index comparison, and by far and away the best climber in the group had an index of 4.5 - not me, I hasten to add, but maybe there's hope for me yet!

Happy chimping, sorry, climbing!

Although one of the more powerful and talented climbers I know has an AI of -2!

I make mine about -2 (inches) . . . explains a lot.

Perhaps we should try a similar move. The majority of us must be over voting age?!
