Is it? I'm reproofing 25 jackets and it got me thinking, It certainly looks and smells like watered down PVA... any thoughts or inside knowledge?

i thought the exact same thing when i was re-doing my snowboard gear.
i seem to remember the ingredients are pretty much pva glue with added stuff, but i cant remember. it would definately make sense.
In reply to frankcp87: MSDS of certain products show zirconium acetate and polypropylene glycol (the film former).

Nikwax website lists the following

2-(N-ethyl-perfluorooctane sulfonamido) ethyl alcohol in a biodegradation report.

And further evidence of fluorochemistry.

Ah well spotted, I was looking for an MSDS but they seem to have a dead link.
