Does the MSR reactor have a pan that can be held firmly in place to the stove like the arrangement on the Jetboil?

Does anyone have any experience of using the Reactor in the cold ie at -10degC or below?

Cheers,

Matt.

No it just sits on top in a groove.

It just sits onto the stove, it doesn't lock without a bodge-style solution.

I've had mine in Scotland and the lakes in winter a few times, will tell all in Lundy (and can fetch it along if you like).

In short, excellent stove but not quite as versatile as the jetboil; overall i'd suggest that it's more efficient and works better in the cold than the jetboil I use for army stuff.

Does anyone know if you can use the pot on any ther stoves? Although the burner has the convex shape the flat bottomed pot should be fine, right?

Its superior to the Jetboil at altitude, consistently worked better up to 6500m on recent trip. Having said that the Jetboil Helios looks rather nice, and the combination of the low profile burner and the upside down cannister looks good.
