For those of you wanting to spread your climbing wisdom by instructing, MCC are running the following courses over the next couple of months:
Climbing Wall Award Training
17/18 September
£120 per person
This qualification is ideal for those wanting to work with groups on indoor and man-made climbing walls. The training is run over two days, and needs to be followed up with a consolidation period and one-day assessment. We will be running assessments in the new year.
Single Pitch Award Training
21/22 September
£120 per person
The SPA allows you to work with groups outdoors on Single Pitch crags. This training runs over two days and needs to be followed up with a consolidation period and two-day assessment.

The CWA and SPA courses are accredited by MLTUK and candidiates must register with them before taking part in a course. For details of syllabuses and pre-requisites please see

We are also running a 2-day fist aid course on 23/24 September. This is a
Rescue Emergency Care (REC) course and is sufficient for SPA and CWA holders or just as a stand-alone certificate. £100 per person.
