Planning to attempt my first deep water solos this weekend and was wondering what other people did about chalk bags and falling off! Do you take multiple bags? How well do they dry out if/when they get wet? Do you just chalk up hands before you go? (Most photos I've seen of climbers on DWS routes they are carrying chalk).
Any advice appreciated.

Apologies to mods if this sounds like an advert, but.....

at the bottom of the page is a DWS bag.

Cheers D,
Looks like a good investment, doubt I'll get it before Sunday ...so I guess the answer is not to fall off!

Freezer bag, roll the top down several times so it forms a bit of a rim to keep it open, pebble and some block chalk in the bottom, bulldog clip to your shorts. Make a new one each time you take a dip.

In reply to Ivan Bicknell: Cut the bottom off of a 1.5 litre drinks bottle and put it in an empty chalk bag. When(if!) you fall off it is easy to dry out the inside of the bottle and you are good to go.
