Wee article about Kev Shields in today's Metro. Typically insubstantial, but to be expected from the paper and he did make it to page 3 (though fortunately his clothes have remained on).

Online version here:
http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/article.html?Meet_the_rock_climber_with_only_one_arm&in_article_id=...

Which has been classified under their Weird section and seems a little out of sorts to band him in with pygmy hedgehogs and the like.

In reply to niallk: brilliant headline writing, how does having fingers missing from his hand make him one-armed?

Apart from the very misleading headline (& pic) it's not to bad an article and it does give his film premier a plug! 'The names Shields, Kev Shields'

Plus a photo taken at an odd angle of him chalking up (I presume) makes it look like he does have one arm.

What route is it that he's on? And is it overhanging like it looks?

In reply to james oswald:

Looks a bit like 'The Edge' at those crags above Largs, what they called again? The Quadrocks. E3 5b I think, or it could be his new route on the bit of rock next to 'The Edge'.

Looking forward to the film, should be filled with sketchy moments! Inspirational stuff!
