I've just been diagnosed with one on each of my palms (one on ring finger tendon and one on middle finger tendon).

The doc recommended surgery - has anyone on here had anything similar?

I'm a bit worried having them taken out! They don't effect my ability to pull on holds but they are slightly uncomfortable holding my bike's handlebars/ holding certain jugs etc

If so, I have it, fingers are just starting to contract, and expect that I will need an op next year. If it's not, thank your lucky stars!

Is this the same as a ganglion (or at least similar)? If so, I have recently "acquired" one on my index finger. My medical advice was yes, someone might recommend you surgery if they were young and keen to get the op on their CV, but frankly unless it's causing distress don't bother!

After a quick Google, I don't think so - I'll find out when I go to the specialist I guess.
