 Topic - research sample methods. help!

need a bit of help here;
a study is conducted in to weather tap water or sterile water is better for irrigating wounds.
people chosen for the study are anyone who goes to a and e with a wound they are then randomly allocated to one of the 2 methods.
what kind of sampling is this? because the people are not randomly selected is it a cohort sample? |
